Northern Colorado Medical works with U.S.-based, state-licensed compounding pharmacies. Each partner pharmacy is LegitScript certified. We evaluate pharmacy partners using available information about licensure, ingredient sourcing, potency and sterility testing, quality-control practices, shipping standards and patient support.

 

For compounded semaglutide, we work with pharmacies that use semaglutide base rather than salt forms such as semaglutide sodium or semaglutide acetate. Because medication concentrations can vary, each prescription includes dosing instructions and appropriately sized syringes for the prescribed formulation. We also review the concentration and dose with patients to help reduce dosing errors.

 

A compounded medication may be considered when the physician identifies an individual clinical need that cannot be met by an available FDA-approved medication. Compounded medications are prepared for individual patients pursuant to a valid prescription. They are not FDA-approved and are not represented as generic or identical versions of FDA-approved brand-name medications.
